Note: The Grand Gulf Nuclear Station review schedule was revised as described in the letter below:

Safety Evaluation Report
The NRC staff reviewed the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Unit 1, license renewal application for compliance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 54, "Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants," and prepared this report to document its preliminary findings. The document was issued on January 31, 2013, as "Safety Evaluation Report with Open Items Related to the License Renewal of Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Unit 1." Upon further review and resolution of open items, the staff prepared a final report to document its findings. The document was issued in April 2016, as "Final Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Unit 1," and an updated SER was issued in October 2016.

Environmental Impact Statement
NUREG-1437, "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants Regarding Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 (NUREG-1437, Supplement 50) Final Report," was published in November 2014. This supplement documents the NRC staff's review of the environmental issues at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station regarding the Entergy Operations, Inc. application for license renewal of that facility. The supplement was prepared in accordance with 10 CFR 51.71. This supplemental environmental impact statement includes the NRC staff's analysis that considers and weighs the environmental effects of the proposed action (license renewal), the environmental impacts of alternatives to the proposed action, and potential mitigative measures for reducing or avoiding adverse impacts. It also includes the NRC staff's recommendation regarding the proposed action.

Public Involvement
The public was encouraged to participate in the reactor license renewal process through public meetings, and public comment periods on rules, renewal guidance, and other documents. The Reactor License Renewal Public Involvement page provides general information to help the public participate.
