Environmental Review

Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Supplement 13, Second Renewal, Regarding Subsequent License Renewal for H.B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant, Unit No. 2, Final Report, was made publicly available on March 12, 2026. The final supplemental environmental impact statement documents the NRC staff’s review of the environmental impacts of subsequent license renewal for H.B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant, Unit No. 2. The final supplemental environmental impact statement was prepared in accordance with 10 CFR Part 51 and documents the NRC staff’s analysis that considers and weighs the environmental effects of the proposed action (subsequent license renewal) and the environmental impacts of alternatives to the proposed action. It also includes the NRC staff’s recommendation regarding the proposed action: The NRC staff’s recommendation is that the adverse environmental impacts of subsequent license renewal for Robinson are not so great that preserving the option of subsequent license renewal for energy-planning decision-makers would be unreasonable.

The NRC staff reviewed the H.B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant, Unit 2, subsequent license renewal application for compliance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 54, "Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants" and prepared a safety evaluation to document its findings.
