Supplementing Federal Salary
The criminal law (18 USC 209) prohibits employees from receiving any salary or supplementation to their Government salary for carrying out their official services from anyone other than the Government (except a State, county, or municipality).
Example: An employee who is making a speech while on official duty cannot accept a fee from the organization which sponsored the event.
