Nondiscrimination in Federally Funded Activities

Title VI Program

The CR program leads the agency's efforts to ensure recipients of NRC Federal Financial Assistance (FFA) comply with the requirements imposed by Title VI and applicable Federal Statutes, Regulations, and Policies. CR program ensures that NRC's recipients do not discriminate against persons who participate (or are eligible to participate) in their programs and activities on the basis of race, color, or national origin. Limited English Proficiency Program

The CR program oversees NRC's internal Domestic Limited English Proficiency (LEP) Program and external LEP Program to ensure NRC conducted programs and activities provide meaningful and equal access to individuals who have limited proficiency in speaking, reading, or understanding English and to provide oversight and work with recipients of NRC Federal Financial Assistance to ensure that they comply with provisions imposed under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Executive Order 13166, which require recipients to provide LEP individuals equal and meaningful access to their programs and activities. Disability Program

The CR program leads the agency's efforts to ensure that no qualified individual with a disability, is excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination on the basis disability under any NRC conducted or Federal financially assisted program or activity. The CR program ensures that providers of NRC conducted and Federal financially assisted programs and activities comply with Federal and NRC regulations such as, providing appropriate auxiliary aids and modifications for persons who participate (or are eligible to participate) in their programs and activities.  Please see the Disability Program for additional information.

Age Program

The CR program administers NRC's external Age Discrimination Compliance Program (EADC).  CR provides oversight to ensure compliance with Federal and NRC regulations directed toward ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in, denied benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination on the basis of age in NRC's Federal financially assisted programs and activities.  Please see the Age Program for additional information.

Title IX Program

The CR program is responsible for providing oversight, compliance coordination, and enforcement of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and leads the agency's efforts to ensure recipients of NRC Federal Financial Assistance comply with Title IX and NRC regulations. The CR program ensures NRC's recipients do not discriminate on the basis of sex against individuals who participate (or are eligible to participate) in their education programs or activities.
