Title VI Program: Race, Color, or National Origin

No person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. Simple justice requires that public funds, to which all taxpayers of all races contribute, not be spent in any fashion which encourages, entrenches, subsidizes, or results in racial discrimination.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) Civil Rights Program (CR) is administered by the Office of Small Business and Civil Rights. The CR program is responsible for providing oversight, compliance coordination, and enforcement of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the following related statutes and provisions:
These statutes and provisions are adopted and incorporated in NRC regulations under Title10, Parts 4 and 5, of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR Part 4 and 10 CFR Part 5).
The CR program leads the agency's efforts to ensure recipients of NRC Federal Financial Assistance (FFA) comply with the requirements imposed by Title VI and applicable Federal Statutes, Regulations, and Policies. The program ensures that NRC's recipients do not discriminate against persons who participate (or are eligible to participate) in their programs and activities on the basis of race, color, or national origin.
