Issued Early Site Permit - Vogtle Site

Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) submitted an application for an early site permit (ESP) for the Vogtle site on August 15, 2006. On August 16, 2007, SNC submitted to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) a supplement to its ESP application expanding the scope of the application to include a request for approval to perform selected construction activities, generally labeled limited work authorization (LWA). On August 26, 2009, the NRC issued the Vogtle site ESP and LWA. Vogtle Early Site Permit

On August 26, 2009, the NRC issued the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant ESP for a site located approximately 26 miles southeast of Augusta, Georgia.
