TH24 Health Physicists Unite: Building Capacity for Our Radiation Protection Future

In this session, we will share best practices at the NRC, States, and other Federal agencies for recruiting, training, and building community among one of our most important radiation protection resources—our health physicist cadre. Participants will hear how the NRC grants program provides a pipeline of talented new hires to State and Federal agencies, how the NRC is actively recruiting health physicists into the agency, what collaborations are ongoing across the NRC as well as between the NRC and States, and how grassroots efforts at the NRC and other agencies are bringing health physicists together. We will also show how these efforts are real-life examples of the NRC’s use of our Strategic Workforce Planning process.
