Katie Tapp

Dr. Katie Tapp joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in September 2006 and has worked in a variety of radiation protection positions. She currently works in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards in the Medical Radiation Safety Team where she focuses on radiation safety evaluations of emerging medical technologies and release of patients containing byproduct material. Previously, she worked as a Health Physicist in the Office of Research and Office of New Reactors and as a material decommissioning license reviewer and inspector in Region III. Dr. Tapp received her doctorate in medical physics from Purdue University and her bachelors in nuclear engineering from University of Illinois.
