TH22 Analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence for Nuclear Power Plant Activities
Sponsored by the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research
Advances in computing technologies have led to the expanded use of data analytics, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) in a diverse range of industries. Leveraging the predictive power of ML/AI algorithms and data analytics provides decisionmakers with previously unachievable access to the knowledge housed in historical data. This session will provide an overview of current ML/AI-related activities in the nuclear industry, as well as perspectives on what the future could look like for using these technologies to develop insights about the behavior of systems. Specific topics will include using ML/AI and data analytics to improve plant performance and access historical data, along with exploring how the NRC could make use of these technologies.
