National Materials Program: Centers of Excellence

In June 2022, the NRC and Agreement States stood the Joint Standing Committee for Reviewing Emerging Medical Technologies (SCREMT) (ML22159A317). Currently, the NRC plans to create a center of excellence for Sealed Source and Device (SS&D).

SCREMT joins the Standing Committee on Compatibility (SCC). The SCC has been part of the NRC's rulemaking process since 2008.

These and any additional centers should be sustainable and will include resource sharing between the Agreement States and NRC to support NMP activities.
