09/28/2016 On September 28, 2016, the NRC issued a Notice of Violation to CB&l AREVA MOX Services for a Severity Level III Problem involving violations associated with the Quality Assurance Plan of the Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility. Specifically, the violations involved (1) the failure to verify that the certificates of conformance identified MOX Services specific procurement requirements for the ledgers and that the purchased ledgers met the requirements and (2) MOX Services’ failure to provide objective evidence for the adequacy of manual welding performed by SMCI prior to procurement of the ledger assemblies.
