W12 External Hazards Risk-Informed Decisionmaking Activities: Flooding and High Winds
This session will discuss recent regulatory and research activities in the area of risk-informed decisionmaking for flooding and high-wind hazards. Planned topics include (1) an update from the staff of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) on the closure of the Near-Term Task Force R2.1 flooding hazard (2) research on High Winds PRA, (3) recent probabilistic storm surge hazard studies by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, (4) an update on external flooding probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) research from an international partner, and (5) an industry perspective.
