T11 U.S. NRC Operating Experience Data—Applications in Risk Modeling
This session will consist of presentations by a panel composed of NRC staff, their contractor--Idaho National Laboratory, and the Nuclear Energy Institute, on selected applications of operational experience in risk analysis. The U.S. NRC operating experience data program, an overview of which was provided in RIC-2018, collects data on human performance and equipment/component reliability primarily from licensee event reports and the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) ICES reliability tracking system. Data are collected and analyzed by Idaho National Laboratory (INL) and become an integral component of the SAPHIRE/SPAR risk-analysis models used to analyze risk of U.S. nuclear power operations.
