Purpose
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will discuss the proposed rule to amend its environmental protection regulations that govern the NRC’s environmental reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA). The proposed rule would codify the findings of the Generic Environmental Impact Statement for Licensing of New Nuclear Reactors, Draft NUREG-2249. The NRC staff will provide information and receive public comments on the proposed changes to NRC regulations, the draft NUREG-2249, and associated guidance.
