Purpose
The purpose of this regulatory conference is to discuss, before the agency makes a final determination, the safety significance of a preliminary finding of greater-than-Green and associated apparent violation of NRC requirements regarding the failure to establish, implement, and maintain adequate procedures for maintenance activities on the 1B Diesel Generator exhaust valves, which resulted in its failure on September 19, 2023 at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. The preliminary greater-than-Green finding and apparent violation are discussed in NRC Inspection Report 05000327/2024090 and 05000328/2024090, dated March 19, 2024 (NRC's Agency wide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML24066A197).
