On March 14, 2023, the NRC published the Enhanced Weapons final rule in the Federal Register (88 FR 15864), along with several supporting guidance documents. The compliance period for this rule ends on January 8, 2024. Subsequent to this publication, affected licensees identified several questions in the supporting guidance documents and requested clarification. The NRC staff has evaluated these issues and is considering issuing limited-scope revisions of the affected guidance documents for public notice and opportunity for comment.
