Purpose
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will conduct a scoping process to gather information necessary to prepare an environmental impact statement to evaluate the environmental impacts for the potential subsequent license renewal of the operating license for Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant, Unit 1 (Monticello). The NRC is seeking stakeholder input on this action and has scheduled a public scoping meeting that will take place in Monticello, MN.

Open house: The meeting will begin at 6:00PM CT. It will be preceded by an open house session to begin at 5:00PM, for members of the public to converse informally with NRC staff. Matters related to participation in any hearing are outside the scope of matters to be discussed at this public meeting. While comments will be accepted during the court reporter transcribed meeting, comments will not be accepted during the open house session.
