Purpose
The purpose of this teleconference between Union Electric Company, dba Ameren Missouri (the licensee) and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff, is to discuss a license amendment request (LAR) to revise the Emergency Plan for Callaway Plant, Unit No. 1 (Callaway). The licensee is planning to submit a 10 CFR 50.54(q) LAR for the Callaway Emergency Plan that would (1) remove the 30-minute “normal hours” activation goal, leaving the 90-minute “off-normal hours” activation goal as the one station standard to cover all hours, and (2) extend the “follow-up” notification goal (to the State and counties) from 30 minutes to 60 minutes (and allow for even further increases when conditions are stable, with agreement from the State and counties).
