Purpose
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff will host a webinar to provide an opportunity for external stakeholders and the NRC staff to exchange information on the proposed Emergency Preparedness for Small Modular Reactors and Other New Technologies (EP/SMR & ONT) rulemaking to facilitate the development of public comments. This meeting provides an opportunity for the NRC staff to answer questions from the public about the proposed rule and guidance document. However, the meeting will not be a forum to negotiate the content of the proposed EP/SMR & ONT rule or any proposed guidance documents. Attendees are strongly encouraged to read the proposed rule and draft guidance document on www.regulations.gov using Docket ID “NRC 2015-0225” prior to the meeting.
