Purpose
The purpose of the meeting is for the NRC staff to present its plans for a proposed revision to RG 1.99, Rev. 2 based on the ASTM E900-15 embrittlement trend correlation, including the technical elements of the proposed revised regulatory guide, safety/risk analysis results, and fleet impact. The NRC staff will request industry and public feedback on the technical elements of the proposed revised regulatory guide and the interest of the industry in the potential for burden reduction with the proposed revised regulatory guide, and the staff’s safety/risk analysis. This meeting will also discuss recent experience in Subsequent License Renewal applications with implementation of Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Programs during extended plant operation, relative to Appendix H to 10 CFR Part 50.
