Fuel transfer operations were suspended following an August 3, 2018, incident involving a loaded spent fuel storage canister that was misaligned and became stuck on a flange while being lowered into a storage vault. Since that time, NRC has hosted three webinars to discuss NRC’s inspection and enforcement activities involving Southern California Edison Company with stakeholders and members of the public. During the upcoming webinar, NRC staff will also discuss future inspection activities at SONGS.
