Purpose
This is an informational meeting to discuss with external stakeholders the revised draft final rule text regarding the applicability of provisions in the rule on enhanced weapons, firearms background checks, and security event notifications. This meeting will provide an opportunity for the NRC staff to present updated draft final rule text that will clarify the applicability of the rule to Agreement State and NRC licensees that possess or transport Category II or III quantities of special nuclear material. Material to support the public meeting will be made publicly available prior to the meeting. Attendees are encouraged to review the material before the meeting. Meeting material, including earlier versions of the draft final rule, will be posted on www.regulations.gov under Docket ID “NRC 2011 0018” before the meeting.
