This exhibit will explain the concept and intent of the very low safety significance issue resolution process within the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards, outline the process’s inherent nexus to the Be RiskSMART framework, and demonstrate its use with example applications. This will enable the NRC staff, industry, and the public to understand this specific application for all areas of nuclear materials within the broader context of the NRC becoming a more modern, risk informed regulatory agency.
