Readying Analytical Tools to Support Advanced Reactors Reviews

Sponsored by Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research

This digital exhibit is intended to demonstrate progress that the NRC has made over the last several years to prepare agency analytical tools to support the reviews of nonlight-water reactors (non-LWRs). It will highlight computer codes from the NRC and the U.S. Department of Energy that are expected to be used for non LWR analysis and include pictures and videos to demonstrate use of those codes for modeling reactor transients in addition to future planned activities. This digital exhibit will also focus on readiness for systems and accident analysis, materials evaluation, and human factors evaluation. Attendees will learn that the staff has continued to develop the knowledge, technical skills, and capacity to strengthen the technical bases for regulatory decisions, while increasing review agility.
