M5 The Future Focused Research and Integrated University Programs

This session will showcase the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES) Future Focused Research (FFR) Program. A brief introduction of the program’s purpose and its proposal submittal and evaluation processes will be provided by the RES Office Director. There will be presentations by two RES Principal Investigators of  their FFR research projects that will include the project purpose, current status, and summary of current research results. There will also be a presentation and discussion of the RES Integrated University Program (IUP) Research and Development (R&D) Grants Program, whereby universities may apply for R&D grants, and obtain insights of NRC research interests from programs such as FFR. A representative project of the IUP research will be presented by the lead researcher from Oregon State University.
