Michael Cheok

Mr. Cheok joined the NRC in 1995 as a Senior Reliability and Risk Analyst in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR). He is currently the Director of the Division of Risk Analysis in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research.  Previously, he has served in a number of positions including the Director in the Division of Construction Inspection and Operational Programs in the Office of New Reactors, as well as the Acting Director in the Division of Risk Assessment in NRR.  He has also served in Deputy Division Director positions in the Division of Engineering and the Division of Inspection and Regional Support in NRR. Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Cheok worked for 17 years as a consultant for the nuclear and chemical industries, and as an employee at a nuclear power plant licensee. He received a B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering and an M.S. degree in Reliability Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park.
