TH30  Improving Realism in Fire PRA

The NRC and industry have continued to focus on improving the realism in fire probabilistic risk assessments (PRAs) including but not limited to improvements in modeling of electrical enclosures, transient fires, cable fires and high-energy arcing faults.  This session will provide the perspectives on the state of practice for fire PRAs from the NRC’s Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES) as well as of industry’s Nuclear Energy Institute and Electric Power Research Institute.
