Marissa Bailey

Marissa Bailey is serving as the Acting Director for the Division of Engineering in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation from November 2015 to April 2016. Her permanent position is as Director for the Division of Fuel Cycle Safety, Safeguards and Environmental Review (FCSE) in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS), which she has held since July 2013. Prior to this assignment, she served as the Deputy Director of FCSE. Since joining the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 1989, she has served in positions of increasing responsibility, including as a section chief in NMSS' Division of Industrial and Medical Nuclear Safety and as a branch chief in NMSS' Division of High-Level Waste Repository Safety. Ms. Bailey began her career at the NRC as a criticality safety and shielding reviewer and licensing project manager for independent spent fuel storage installations and transportation packages. Ms. Bailey received a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Maryland.
