Christopher G. Miller

Mr. Miller is the Director, Division of License Renewal, in the Office Nuclear Reactor Regulation.  Mr. Miller joined the NRC in 1988. From 1989 to 2001 he served as Resident Inspector and Senior Resident Inspector at two Region III sites.  He also worked in Region III as a Senior License Examiner in the Division of Reactor Safety, and as the Chief of the Decommissioning Branch in the Division of Nuclear Materials Safety. In 2004, he served as a Senior Operations Assistant and then Chief of the Technical and Regional Programs Section in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations (OEDO). Mr. Miller joined the Senior Executive Service (SES) in 2007 and served as Deputy Director for Emergency Preparedness in the Division of Preparedness and Response within the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response.  In 2011 he served as the Director of the Division of Reactor Safety in Region I. In 2013, Mr. Miller served as the Director of the Division of Intergovernmental Liaison and Rulemaking in the Office of Federal and State Materials and Environmental Management Programs until he took his current position. Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. Miller served as a nuclear engineer qualified Surface Warfare Officer and Radiation Controls Officer in the U.S. Navy, and as a systems engineer and maintenance superintendent at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant.  Mr. Miller received a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and is a graduate of the NRC's SES Candidate Development Program.
