Steven Arthur Laur

Mr. Steven Laur is a Senior Reliability and Risk Analyst with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation within the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). He has been involved with a number of technical and policy issues related to risk-informed regulation, including several activities that resulted from the Fukushima accident.  Prior to joining the NRC in 2004, Mr. Laur supervised the probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) group for a large southern utility.  He has over 36 years of experience in the nuclear power field in the areas of operations, quality assurance, engineering, and licensing.  He held a Senior Reactor Operator license on the St. Lucie plant and was a nuclear qualified officer in the US Navy.  Mr. Laur holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Masters of Business Administration.  He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida in both the nuclear and electrical disciplines.
