Takashi Hara

Mr. Takashi Hara joined the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) in 1993 and served as the fuel manager at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant from July 2009 until March 11, 2011. During that time period, Mr. Hara was in charge of core and fuel management, including the introduction of mixed oxide (MOX) fuel. Following the earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011, Mr. Hara’s responsibilities transitioned to stabilization of the Fukushima Daiichi plant, with particular focus on spent fuel pools. From September 2011 until July 2015, Mr. Hara oversaw the preparation and removal of fuel from the spent fuel pools of Unit 3&4. At the conclusion of his time at the Fukushima Daiichi plant, Mr. Hara worked at the TEPCO International Affairs Office and is currently serving as the Deputy General Manager of the TEPCO Washington Office.
