Waste Control Specialists (WCS) has emerged as the nation’s leading provider of treatment, storage and disposal services for low-level radioactive waste, mixed low-level radioactive waste, and hazardous waste. The Texas-sized, 1338-acre, facility is a one-stop shop for radioactive generators across the country. 

Rod has led the efforts of WCS since 2006 to obtain a license, construct and operate facilities to dispose of Class A, B & C low-level radioactive waste from both the Texas Compact and the federal government as well as byproduct material (11e2). Rod is also the spokesperson for WCS for media related activities.

WCS is the first Interstate Compact low-level radioactive waste disposal facility to be licensed and operated under the Low-level Waste Policy Act of 1980, as amended in 1985.
