Raymond Herb

Ray graduated from the US Naval Academy, in 1983 with and BS in Aerospace Engineering, he served 7 years in the Nuclear Navy in various Operating and Engineering roles.  After leaving the Navy, Ray was an I&C Maintenance Engineer at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station for 7 years.  In 1998 Ray joined Southern Company as Senior I&C Design Engineer, in 2001 he transferred to Southern Nuclear into Component Engineering as a control system engineer.  In 2009 Ray joined the newly formed Southern Nuclear Development organization where he worked with NuStart in reviewing the AP1000 I&C designs and support submittal for the Vogtle Unit 3 and 4 Construction and Operating License.  In 2011 Ray returned to Design I&C where he is now the Fleet I&C principal engineer and provides governance and oversight for I&C designs at plants Hatch, Farley and Vogtle.  Ray has over 30 years of experience in nuclear power, with 25 years in commercial nuclear power covering multiple plant designs.
