David Alley

Dr. David Alley joined the NRC in 2009.  He is a Senior Materials Engineer in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.  In this capacity Dr. Alley works on a variety of materials and corrosion issues ranging from buried piping to cracking of nickel alloys in reactor coolant environments.  Prior to joining the NRC, Dr. Alley was a career Coast Guard Officer.  Dr. Alley has also held positions in the oil and water treatment industries.  Dr. Alley holds a BS in marine science from the Coast Guard Academy, an MS in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, an MS in Metallurgy from the University of Connecticut, and a Ph.D. in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
