James Andersen

Mr. James Andersen began his NRC career in 1991 as a Project Engineer in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR), Division of Reactor Licensing.  During the period of 1991 to 1999, he was the Project Manager for several Region I plants, and was the lead Project Manager for the restart of Millstone after an extended shutdown.  In 2000, Mr. Andersen was assigned as a Senior Project Manager in the high-level waste repository program, working on the proposed high-level waste repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada.  In 2003, Mr. Andersen was assigned as the Branch Chief for the Performance Assessment Branch in NRR, overseeing the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP).  In 2009, Mr. Andersen was assigned as the Deputy, Assistant for Operations, Technical, Budget, and Performance Management, in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations (OEDO).  In 2011, Mr. Andersen assumed his current position as the Electrical Branch Chief in the Division of Engineering, NRR.  Prior to the NRC, Mr. Andersen worked for the Navy in the nuclear submarine program.
