Joined Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (currently, Japan Atomic Energy Agency) in 1986, and have engaged for experimental and analytical research on severe accident progression and source term for light water reactors.

Stayed Sandia National Laboratories at Albuquerque as a visiting scientist from 1990 to 1991.

Received Ph. D in Engineering from the University of Tsukuba in 2003.

Current position is group leader, Risk Analysis and Applications Research Group of Nuclear Safety Research Center.
