Patrick Miazza

Since January 1, 2012, Dr. Patrick Miazza has been in charge of the business unit Energy Management Planning and Strategy of the BKW FMB Energie AG, Berne Switzerland.

From September 2002 till December 2011, he was managing director of the nuclear power plant Mühleberg (BE BWR 4 Mark 1) of the BKW.

In 1993, Dr. Patrick Miazza joined the nuclear power plant of the BKW as a technical assistant. As of 1996, he managed the unit Planning and Control and was acting director of the plant division services. In 2000, he joined plant operations and received his license as reactor operator in 2001.

From 1991 till 1993, Dr. Patrick Miazza worked on the OECD Halden Reactor Project on behalf of the Swiss Nuclear Regulating Authority HSK, now ENSI.

Dr. Patrick Miazza graduated with a doctoral degree in Physics from the ETH Lausanne.

He has been an expert for the pear review of a foreign nuclear power plant within the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO). Additionally, he was an expert for the first Corporate Peer Review of EDF as well as their Follow-Up Review.

Dr. Patrick Miazza represents the BKW FMB Energie AG on several strategic boards.

He is a member of the Strategy Committee of the research project PEGASOS.

He is married, father of three children.
