Raul Hernandez

Mr. Raul Hernandez is serving as a Reactor Systems Engineer in the NRC Office of New Reactors, Division of Safety Systems & Risk Assessment. As a technical reviewer, he is evaluating spent fuel pool designs for proposed new reactor designs. From 2003 to 2007, Mr. Hernandez worked as a Reactor Systems Engineer in the NRC Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, Balance of Plant Branch. In this position he reviewed technical specification amendments, power uprates, and license renewals. Mr. Hernandez joined the NRC in April 2001 and graduated from the Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program (NSPDP) in 2003 after completing rotations in the environmental branch, chemical engineering branch, and as a resident inspector. Mr. Hernandez received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in June 2001 from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus.
