Galeazzi PAGE: 1 of 13 Dear Mr. Hodge: Attached is our PRELIMINARY report 10CFR21-0075 for a 10CFR21 reportable defect applicable to Parsons Peebles/Electric Products generators at Wisconsin Electric - Point Beach. This may be a generic issue for any PP/EP generators which had the bearing insulation modified after IN 86-26 was issued. At this point, all users with PP/EP generators are being considered for notification, although very few have probably modified the generator insulation. We are still awaiting some information from the generator manufacturer and plan to formally issue the report and notify users by Friday, March 14, 1997. If you have any questions, please give me a call. I will be out of the office this afternoon, but will be available tomorrow. Sincerely, Engine Systems, Inc. Donald D.
