Rajiv Prasad

Dr. Prasad is an Earth Scientist in the Earth System Predictability and Resiliency group within the Energy and Environment Directorate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington. He has a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University. Since 2004, he has led hydrology-related safety reviews and environmental analyses for supporting licensing of U.S. nuclear power plants. He has contributed to the development of technical bases for flood hazard assessments including local-scale flooding, riverine flooding, and tsunamis. He is currently developing a probabilistic flood hazard assessment frameworks for local flooding at nuclear power plants. With Dr. Leung, he co-authored a series of reports that describe how hydrometeorological hazards to nuclear power plants can be affected by climate change.
