Josh Borromeo is the current Branch Chief of the Non-Power Production and Utilization Facility Licensing Branch. Josh joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2015 as a Reactor Systems Engineer in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR). At the NRC, Josh has worked on a number of complex projects including the NuScale Design Certification Application and Accident Tolerant Fuel (ATF).Additionally, he has served as the Acting Chief of the Reactor Systems Branch in NRRl Acting Chief of the PRA Licensing Branch in NRR, and the Acting Chief of the Containment, Thermal, Chemical, and Fire Protection Branch in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS). Prior to joining the NRC, Josh worked at Westinghouse as a safety analysis engineer focusing on loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) analyses and methodology development. Josh received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State.
