Nicole Coovert

Ms. Nicole Coovert has been with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) since 2010 and currently serves as Chief in the Division of Construction Oversight in Region II. She is responsible for management of NRC's oversight of construction activities at Vogtle Units 3&4. Since joining the NRC, she has held multiple roles with increasing responsibility; as well as serving in multiple technical divisions including operating reactors, new construction reactors, and fuel facilities.

Prior to joining the NRC, Ms. Coovert worked for Exelon Nuclear for 10 years where she held numerous positions including Senior Reactor Operator at Quad Cities nuclear power station. She also served as a Human Performance Manager at Three Mile Island nuclear plant and as an Outage Services Programs Manager at the Exelon corporate offices.

Ms. Coovert is a U.S. Navy veteran where she served as a Nuclear Machinist Mate on the USS Eisenhower aircraft carrier. She was in the Navy from 1994 to 1999. While in the Navy, she earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology degree from Old Dominion University.
