Rebecca Richardson

Ms. Rebecca (Becca) C. Richardson is Chief of the Intelligence Liaison and Threat Assessment Branch for the Division of Security Operations in the Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR) where she leads the staff that provide assessments of the threat environment affecting U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)-regulated activities, administers the NRC’s counterintelligence program, and provides daily intelligence support to the Commission.

Ms. Richardson joined the NRC in 2007. Since that time, she has served in a variety of roles across the NRC’s Regional offices and Headquarters to include physical scientist, senior physical security inspector, project manager, and executive technical assistant. Throughout her career, she conducted over 60 multi-disciplined and complex inspections spanning a myriad of NRC regulations at over 37 operating power reactor sites and 10 different fuel cycle and materials facilities.

Since 2007, she has also volunteered as an Emergency Responder for the NRC’s Incident Response Program where she assists on technical issues related to the agency’s response to security incidents at NRC-regulated facilities. In 2020, she received the Meritorious Service Award for her contributions in the area of nuclear security.

Ms. Richardson earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Oceanography from the University of South Carolina, a master's degree in National Security and Government from The Johns Hopkins University, and a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science and Forensic Science from the University of Florida.
