Nader Mamish

Nader L. Mamish was appointed Director of the Office of International Programs on February 10, 2013. Mr. Mamish joined the NRC in 1992 as a radiation specialist in the former Region V office. In 1993, he transferred to headquarters and served in a number of progressively responsible positions, including senior enforcement specialist, Office of Enforcement; regional program coordinator, Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS); senior materials coordinator, Office of the Executive Director for Operations (OEDO); and chief, Operations Center and chief, Coordination Section, Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR). In 2004, Mr. Mamish was selected for the Senior Executive Service (SES) position of deputy director for Emergency Preparedness, NSIR. From 2007 to 2009, he served as deputy director for Licensing and Inspection, Division of Spent Fuel Storage and Transportation, NMSS. In 2009, Mr. Mamish was selected for his most recent position as Assistant for Operations, OEDO. Prior to joining the NRC, he served in a variety of positions working for Yankee Atomic Electric Compay and Florida Power and Light Company. Mr. Mamish received a bachelor's degree in radiological health physics and a master's degree in radiological sciences from the University of Massachusetts. He is a graduate of the NRC SES Candidate Development Program. The Office of International Programs supports U.S. interests abroad in the safe and secure use of nuclear materials and in guarding against the spread of nuclear weapons. It also licenses the export and import of nuclear materials and equipment.
