Lauren Mayros

Lauren Mayros is an International Policy Analyst in the Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch in the Office of International Programs (OIP) at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). As part of her responsibilities in OIP, Ms. Mayros is the NRC's co-lead for the negotiation of civil nuclear agreements for cooperation, and also represents the NRC at the Treaty for the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons conferences and at the Nuclear Suppliers Group. Lauren is a sought-after presenter on export control and nonproliferation issues, and frequently speaks at high-level meetings and conferences both in the United States and internationally on those topics. Before commencing her current position, Ms. Mayros worked as a Licensing Officer in NRC's international office, and has also completed rotations to the Department of State, in the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, and in the NRC's Office of Congressional Affairs and Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. Her areas of expertise are nuclear nonproliferation, export controls, export and import licensing, the Nuclear Suppliers Group, agreements for civil nuclear cooperation, and the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Prior to joining the U.S. Government, Ms. Mayros worked for the Nuclear Suppliers Group Secretariat and the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization in Vienna, Austria, and co-authored a scholarly journal entitled: "Europe Facing Nuclear Weapon Challenges" (2008). Ms. Mayros received her Bachelor's Degree from Emory University in International Relations and a Master's Degree in International Security Studies from the University of St. Andrews.
