Donald Palmrose

Dr. Donald Palmrose is a Senior Nuclear Engineer in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards for the recently established Environmental Center of Expertise.  He is the lead staff technical reviewer for NRC's new reactor licensing actions concerning the offsite environmental impacts with a radiological nexus, such as radiological effluent releases, postulated accidents, and the transportation of fuels and wastes.  Dr. Palmrose has three Nuclear Engineering degrees with a Bachelors from Oregon State University, and a Masters and PhD from Texas A&M University. Dr. Palmrose joined the NRC in late 2007 and has supported the review of new reactor early site permits, combined licenses, and design certifications along with a number of licensing amendment requests for new reactor construction and in support of the operating nuclear power plant fleet.
