Tom Basso is the Senior Director Regulatory Affairs at the Nuclear Energy Institute, with primary responsibilities for licensing and regulatory issues. In addition, he provides a technical advisory role in the area of Codes and Standards. Tom's 37 years of experience in the nuclear industry includes working at Oyster Creek, Three Mile Island, Limerick and Peach Bottom Nuclear Stations, and various corporate positions, the most recent position being Director of Engineering Programs responsible for the Exelon fleet. Tom has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and an ANSI SRO Certifications. At the Nuclear Energy Institute, Tom initiated and leads the Codes and Standards Task Force with the primary purpose to influence code and standards improvements through industry engagement and active participation in standards committees and interactions with appropriate NRC organizations.
