Paul Shanes

Paul is the Professional Lead for Cyber Security at the United Kingdom's Office for Nuclear Regulation. As a Superintending Inspector he is responsible for the regulation of cyber security and information assurance across the Industry to ensure that risks are managed proportionately and effectively. Prior to joining ONR Paul held a number of senior roles across central government, predominantly with the Defence and Critical National Infrastructure environments. He holds a Masters (with Distinction) in Information Security, is a Chartered Security Professional and Fellow of both the Security Institute and British Computer Society. Outside of work, Paul previously held a commission as a Royal Air Force reservist for over 10 years, training the next generation of cadets to fly and fostering their interest in aviation and public service.
