Jeffrey Semancik

Jeff Semancik has served as the director of the Radiation Division for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) since 2014. Jeff is the former Chair for the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD) and also serves on several CRCPD working groups and has contributed to the development of the Radiological Operations Support Specialist (ROSS) including participating in several regional and national level exercises. Prior to joining DEEP, Jeff worked at Millstone Nuclear Power Station in Waterford, CT for 23 years in a variety of positions including licensed senior reactor operator, Operations Manager, Engineering Director, and Plant Manager. Jeff began his career as an officer in the United States Navy serving on board the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN and the guided missile destroyer USS SCOTT during Operation Desert Shield. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
