Jeremy Tapp

Jeremy Tapp joined the NRC in 2004 as a Reactor Engineer in NRR performing technical reviews related to BWR reactor systems before transferring to Region III in 2006.  He spent the next 8 years performing operating reactor, decommissioning reactor, and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) inspections.  He was the lead inspector for a number of sites, including the University of Illinois, University of Michigan, and NASA Plum Brook research reactor decommissioning projects, the Westinghouse Hematite decommissioning project, and the LaCrosse Boiling Water Reactor ISFSI.  He then transferred back to Headquarters in NMSS in 2014.

He currently performs inspections of dry cask storage and transportation packaging vendors, supports the Regional ISFSI inspection programs, performs reviews of quality assurance programs, and is a member of the ASME NQA-1 Subcommittee on Waste Management.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
